Caught in freak cycle
I created this work whenI was writing preface for one of my novels called "The rules". “Caught in freak cycle” is the Chinese name.
This painting was one of the whiteboards to record my emotions.
As that day I wrote:
Since 2004, when I was studying in Beijing Film Academy, I wrote a series of stories. They were real-life subject matters written for fun and also for movie making.
I never think I am a good story teller but I am a fine emotion-expresser.
I have been a Chinese Opera performer for 12 years. I lived in and experienced the life of each character I played. It was tempting for me.
This novel was originally called "The Circles". The first circle, the second circle, the third circle, etc.
When I shot my first story as school assignment, I decided to changed the name to "The First Rule". Then the serie is called “The Rules”.
Till now, more stories have been added to this serie. And I saw lots of people trapped by rules in those strange circles and sensed their powerlessness feelings. So I came up with the formal Chinese name "Caught in freak cycle". As English title I still call it "The rules".
